Next-generation per-or poly-fluorochemicals, knows as PFCs, are used in grease-resistant food wrappers, waterproof clothing, stain- and water-resistant coatings for carpets and furniture as well as many other products. Few have been tested for safety, and the names, composition and health effects of most are hidden as trade secrets. Read the full Environmental Working Group’s “Poisoned Legacy” report to learn more about the need for the EPA and governments worldwide to thoroughly assess and control the hazards of next-generation PFCs. Support toxic-free products! The EWG also has a guide to avoiding ‪PFCs.
