US-headquartered material science company Yulex Brands is introducing Yulastic into its portfolio, starting in the denim sector.
The company, which develops bio-based (plant-based) natural rubber products to replace petroleum-based products is best known for its Yulex closed cell foam used to replace neoprene in wetsuits.
Yulastic, on the other hand, is a fine natural rubber filament made from YULEX® PURE latex, a proprietary latex made and patented by Yulex. Yulastic is 100% bio-based under the United States Department of Agriculture (USDA) BioPreferred programme.
Liz Bui, CEO of Yulex said: “It is important to use a plant-based and natural based raw materials- to start moving away from petroleum. I really love the fervour of which the UK and Europe are adapting and focusing on the goal of carbon neutrality by 2050.”
